In 2005, I started a passionate search to build a better life for myself and find sustainable ways to serve my community. I chose teachings that modeled equity, prioritized compassion and understanding, recognized the wisdom in emotions, and helped me clarify my values and priorities, and stay true to them. I invested heavily in the most effective systems I could find. After I learned how to embody these teachings in my own life, I started enthusiastically sharing them with others.
You may wonder what goes into my 'special sauce?' Since 2005 I've primarily drawn from Marshall Rosenberg's Nonviolent Communication, and Mindfulness inspired by Thich Nhat Hanh and Tara Brach. I've completed 9 month teacher trainings in both of these modalities. I've also done extensive codependent recovery work since 2005, with mentoring. I build on Kristin Neff's self-compassion work, Brene Brown, and Authentic Relating as well. I can help you focus on any, or all of these modalities. In early 2022, I completed my International Coach Federation Certification!
After years of embodying these principles, I started leading mindful hikes in 2016 and facilitating workshops in 2018. My background as a teacher for 15 years help me reach people in individualized and impactful ways so you can integrate your learning deeply. In 2011, I earned my PhD in Educational Equity and Cultural Diversity. My work is engaging for your whole being, not just your mind.
